Yes, I got the same reply that I sucessfully finished the online asse4ssment and telephone interview and that they will proceed my application to the next step of the process. I also don´t know if the next step is the assessment center??Do somebody know this?
They also told me that they will match my individual profile with actual Progress Positions after the end of the overall application process in march.

That e-mail came from jerome.kosinski.external@eads.com . So also one of those guys from that Danish Recruitment company that EADS has outsourced all the pre selection to.

Guys, just learnt there is one more evaluation step after the telephone interview, you'll have to clear that to get an invite to the AC. After a candidate successfully clears the telephone interview, the eads hr team creates a candidate profile and try their best to match it to an open progress position. This profile is then forwarded to the recruiting manager, if the recruiting manager thinks the candiate fits the bill, ONLY then do you get invited for the AC, where you will get to meet the same recruiting manager and his other colleagues, who might have different positions.

Congratulations to all of you who got that confirmation email! I was playing with the thought of writing all of you on the recipient list! Maybe the reason why they decided to reveal all the email addresses was to influence our perception on the competition - although we may have only been the first batch of candidates that got through. Who knows how many more there will be.
How did you find out that there is the possibility of not succeeding in the selection phase? As long as I get a shot at competing at the assessment centre I'll be happy. I say that now, but I'm sure that I'll be really dissapointed if I learnt that I didn't get through after that phase!

I received three job descriptions (in Germany and France) in which I could express or deny my interest. I guess that at least one of them will be considered in further detail. But it explicitly was not an AC invitation yet.
Whatever, I already signed a contract at another company with a salary of >44 € grands, so I'm quiete relaxed whatever happenz...

I got only one potential position after contacting them, but I am also not happy with this position. It doesnt really match my profile. I asked them for another position and gave them specific field that match better my profile, but they told me that they can not offer me any other positions.
I really didn't know that it is possible to get more positions and to make a choice. why they didn't want to make me any othe offer?
To the people who got more than one position: Are the position in the same field or in different? Or maybe in different functional areas?

Did any of you guys apply at the end of the application period. Because I have applied on the 27th of February and I only received an email on the 12th of march saying they are busy with it and that they will give information on the outcome asap. I have send 3 emails in which I ask, when they expect to know which candidates will be selected for the pre-assesment and they never replied. This is not how you treat possible future employees.... Friends of mine are having the same problem. How hard is it to reply on an email!!!

i believe if they did not reply to invite you for the online test means you did not get pass the pre-screening selection. They will not reply or email to indicate this decision. if im not wrong, the phone interview period is over.

That is quite weird. A friend of mine did indeed get an email that he was rejected before the online assesment and telephone interview. But other people I have spoken also haven't heard anything. And my and their application are in still 'in process'. By the way I think it very rude not to contact or even send a simple email saying you are not selected! Most companies also provide feedback!! A simple email saying you are rejected is the least they should do!

Well another person. I have applied for a Support position at the 22. Feb, when the tool was not working. Only received a confirmation email and that's it. I have tried to get in contact with relevant people. No reply. I have not even taken the online assessment, but have not received a rejection either. I am very annoyed by know and am not sure if I not rather look for something else!!! If I am supposed to be a "high potential" or "talent" it might be the SMARTer decision!

I received the same email about the "concrete PROGRESS position" about 1 week after all you guys. My e-mail, however, did not have a list of other candidates the email went out to. I am guessing that the CC in stead of the BCC was just an honest mistake. I haven't been matched with a position yet, but I've applied to Engg. and the Selection Days (known as AC around here? Assessment Center?) are in about a month in May. I need a visa to travel to the interview, so I am a bit nervous about getting my things in order in time.

I got the "Online Assessment feedback report" as well as the "concrete Progress position" email. I think that the company that handled the online assessment sent it out to all the participants of the assessment. It looks like it doesn't have anything to do with selection for the next round. I applied at the beginning of February, and had both the test and the phone interview. I received the email with the Online Assessment Feedback Report with no concrete info about whether I am invited to the AC. They have ignored my emails so far which is pretty annoying. I am applying for an engineering position. Does anybody known when the selection day for this is?

I wrote they guy responsible for the recruiting about what the status of my application is, and he replied that he already sent my profile to some of the managers, but none have replied with interest. Apparently the whole profile matching process goes on until July, so I might not know whether or not I will be invited for the AC for a long long time!

I just received maybe exactly the same email as some of you that the selection process continues through July. "You would have received feedback earlier if you had not been successful. Now, as you are in the pool of candidates for matching it might still take a while no matter if you are finally selected for concrete positions or not."
This is getting to be a really long process.

On the EADS Progress site it says that interview are held in April, May and June depending on the function. I think this is only the second year of the programme. It could be that they changed it from last year. Like I said before, the guy I wrote said that there hasn't been a match yet and that the matching process goes on until July.
Referring to one of the previous posts, so if you havn't received any feedback it means that you haven't been refused by a manager??

where did you read that? Show me the link, please. I got an email that after the managers evaluation (yes or no interest for specific profile), the sucessfull cndidates who got a confirmation from the manager, will be invited for one or more ACs starting on End of April until 2. July. But when somebody has been invited to Ac, that means that the managers has confirmed interest in his/her profile.
because of that I think that we should get some feedback until end of the week!

this application process is kind of annoying.. 2 months ago the telephone interview took place and still no feedback, nor an invitation nor a refusal.. nothing.. As I got an offer from another I accepted this one as it is an interesting job not knowing how EADS has decided or will decide.. it would be interesting to know how many participants they interview by telephone. seem to be hundreds of us ;-)

maybe this is normal for a trainee program. In Other trainee Programms the trainee get more money, e.g Daimler Chrysler appr. 43 000, eralier was 48 000 per year during the trainee program by daimler.
Maybe we have to be happy when we get a trainee place;-)

Hi all,
yes I got invited yesterday to the AC on 20th and 21th May for Engineering for only one position that I showed interest for. It is pretty much what I have applied for initially but the description of the job is still quite vague.
For the ones who did not get invited till now after that they showed interests in some positions, I think they keep your profile on the side to fill up the positions that could not be filled and you will be contacted only mid june for AC beginning of July...I think that they just give 10-15 days notice for the AC.

i emailed them a few days ago regarding the 2 positions which i was applying for. they replied that i did not get selected for 1 of the position and the other is still pending the managers' feedback. she mentioned that did not get selected in the first round so i presume there are more than 1 round of selection for the AC.

I am still waiting to hear from EADS for an engineering position. I hope to get a position. EADS is a good name however I have to let other companies and/or grad schools know soon. I just hope that the actually training is not this poorly organized. The last email I got was end of march, two months have passed. In my case it was a position that didn't fit my profile. I thnik, this is very stupid selection. I mean we can positions offer from people from HR that does not have any idea what kind of position really fits our profile and then of course we get a refuse by the managers. Much better would be to have access to all open position in the functional area and then to make 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice, so we better know what is the best for us and later we can bring arguments.....like a typical direkt application for a position.
It is really sorry about the whole work that I spend in this application process until know, to get only one offer of position that is extremly different from what I did in my study and my interships.
This Selection Process is for my the BIGGEST BULLSHIT EVER!!!!

Just 4 comments to your statement:
1) Such a rude criticism is neither appropriate nor justified. If you knew the importance and the impact of PROGRESS on the overall EADS organization (which you obviously don't), you wouldn't express such unqualified remarks. They have a really big workload, and for that purpose it is absolutely clear that this will take some time (or would you prefer to be rejected without you application being read???) . Sure I also regret that they do not give regular updates,but that is their decision because it's THEIR program.
2) If you decide to speak up and express such accusations, please do so in PROPER ENGLISH (or your native language if your english is not up to this).
3) Just as a matter of character: If you shout out such big words, why don't you have the nuts to sign them with your real name at the end.
4) The post you referred to is more tha a year old...

I completed an AC a week ago. That same Friday I got the results.
The AC consisted of a group exercise divided in three sessions, followed by some speaches, a dinner, a personal interview and the final feedback. The three sessions were with the same "main group", but for one of them you had to divide into little sub-groups and discuss more specific aspects of the exercise. It was fun, challenging and very interesting.
The talks were regarding EADS, the PROGRESS program and what they expected from us.
During the dinner, the managers had the opportunity to talk with the candidates, and the next day there was an interview.
That, I think, is a good summary.

concerning the AC: we had to solve a case study about a company having problems in China. Social elements, financial, political and matters of reputation. Two excercises were in groups of 4-6 people, one among 2-3 people. Groups were observed by line managers of the respective job proposal as well as someone from HR. Futhermore, we had to fill-in self-assessment forms connected to EADS corporate values (to which degree our personnality matches these values, etc.), dinner with people from EADS and interviews with the line manager and the HR manager.

concerning the AC: groups of 4-6 people are solving a case study which is closely connected to EADS activities. In my case it was a business in China which encountered difficulties politically, financially and socially. Two tasks are being solved with the entire group, one with 2-3 participants out of this group.
Furthermore, there is a dinner with EADS staff (where they obviously try to get to know candidates in an informal setting) and a self-assessment form connected to EADS values to be filled in.

Passing online assessment and phone interview does not mean, that you will be invited to AC. The line managers undertakes one more selction. Only 2-3 people per position to the final selection- the AC.
I did not apply this year because I already have a good job:-)

I just sent my application yesterday - right on time :-). I received a confirmation letter today that they will consider my application and contact me.
Did anyone else received their AC dates like the Lounge Gast from 11.02. (for what function was is actually???). EADS has fixed AC dates for the several functions as the people of last year said. By when does EADS publish the exact AC dates for the functions?
I would like to book a longtime overseas trip and need to align the booking with their selection days.

The deadline for applications just passed out on 14.02.11. i doubt any one might have been contacted regarding the online assesment and telephone interview. however it would be great if someone updates the status on this forum, if they rescieve any form of communication.
Last year i had gone through to the assesment final of a similar defence conglomorate called finmeccanica in rome. i doubt the assesment centre would be much different from theirs. First introduction to teams, group assesment, role play and topped up with individual interview. however, we might need to be careful of HR who have no clue on technicality and make judgements on the behavioral skills. Also depends upon their cultural sensitivity.

I just took the online test. Its mainly behavioral with a sprinkling of logic/ reasoning questions (pretty much looking at symbols to find some kind of pattern and filling out the missing links), as well as data interpretation (look at this or that graph and click the appropriate answer). I would say it was 80% behavioral questions, and 20% logic and reasoning questions.

I also took the test and agree that it's mostly behavioral questions which you can not prepare. It took me almost 3 hours to complete the test and it's just available in English.

Hi,
I just finished the online assessment. The whole page broke down yesterday so the deadline was extended to Februar 4th 1pm.
There were a lot of behavourial questions. I think it was a kind of Myer Briggs type indicator test.
The logical and analytical test were ok, only the one where you see symbols and need to figure out the numbers for one symbol was quite difficult but it were only 8 tasks if I remember right.

does anybody already have a positive/negative response concerning the test results if we made it to the next round?
Just got my test results on Thursday but they said the final answer will come seperately!
Didn't know that the deadline was the 4th finally...

I have received the feedback from the online test as well and think that the results match my profile (besides 2 categories).
To Lounge Gast 07.03.2011: The test compares your answers with the answers of the other people that took the test. When you have a 4 out of 100, that means that 96% of the people who took the test have a higher score in this category (they voted higher than 15).

This is the answer I got concerning the problem about the results:
Thank you for your participation to the PROGRESS online assessment. Your e-mail was forwarded to us by the online test provider. To ensure a fair selection process, participants can only perform the test once and we will consider the results recorded then. Of course, we made sure that the online assessment was properly working.
Given the high number of applications, we regret that we are unable to provide any further details on individual test results other than the report provided by the test provider.
We will inform you shortly about the next steps of the recruitment process.

last year I successfully passed the online test and the telephone interview. I got an email with congratulatios about passing the pre-selection and got a postion offering which I accepted. After that my application was passed to the line manager and after 4 more weeks I got a rejection. I just want to say you, dont lean on this selection process, I hink, you really need a big luck to get a postion at the end. Passing the pre-selection does not mean that you will be invitd to the AC. Hello Everyone,
I applied for EADS PROGRESS in 2008. I reached the final stage (assessment centre) but did not get selected. I have applied again this year (last attempt) and I have completed my online test(received results, awaiting EADS response). I assume my experience could be of some help to the anxious lot I see in this blog. I was not happy with my online test results because it did not make sense. To my understanding, the test provides the results in percentiles. This means the results of everyone taking the test must be available to calculate the percentile. In 2008, the online test results were made available after the telephone interview which could very well mean that the percentile scores were correct. This year, I received my result the next day so it could not be percentile based on the entire group who took test. My scores in reasoning etc were high but my behaviorial skills results were mixed and not what I expected or not what my behaviour is usually. In my experience the online test results do not always get very high weightage. For instance, my friend with a percentile of 5 got the job. CV of candidates who the HR organization thinks to be suitable is sent to the managers. The managers would then shortlist the people who would be invited to the assessment/selection centre. However, this year (from the online results email) I find that the people selected for the telephone interview are the ones shortlisted by managers.
Regarding response time, in my experience it is largely dependent on who in HR is working for PROGRESS. Some HR personnel are very quick to respond to your queries (sometimes within half a day). progress@eads.net always takes atleast 3-4 working days to reply, I have experienced not getting a response too. The selection centre interviews for support functions are usually in April and the interview for engineering roles take place from May onwards.
In 2008, the selection centre interview had two stages. First day it was group activities. Second day was the personal interview with the manager who is interested in your profile. The group activity comprises of reading through a business case (30 mins or so) highlighting some challenges etc. Then you are sent to a hall as a group and asked to discuss among yourselves to clearly outline the challenges. During this period, several managers would be observing you including the one who is interested in you. Based on a talk I had with a HR person, I understand that the objective for them is to determine your capability to work in a group and not if you can come up with solutions for the business case. After this large group event is over, you are sent to another room with probably another 1 or 2 candidates who are also shortlisted for the same job as you are. Here you have another set of questions relating to the business case and you are to discuss on creating a solution. At this time, only the manager who is inerested in you and the other shortlisted candidates is present. I am not sure what he is looking out for. But my guess is your reasoning ability etc. After this, you would again be sent to the big group event and you will be asked to discuss your solutions and present them. All the managers interested in the candidates of the big group will be present. In short, the best way to succeed in this level is to be active in the group.
The second day is the personal interview and your fit to the position on a technical and personal level is. I believe this is where I lost out because I did not speak French and my manager did not understand/speak English very well.
Unfortunately, luck plays a larger role in your selection (A fact that a EADS HR person admitted). I wish you all good luck.

Well I was successfull last year in the applicaition process (now Progress Trainee) and I just can confirm nearly everything that has been said in the post before.
Just what you here everytime simply is through: important is being a good teamplayer, not playing a role but being who you really are and most important LUCK :) I was invited in two consecutive years for the AC and both times just because another participant couldn't or make it or took back his application...
All the best and perhaps see some of you in some point in the future (I also read this forum before my application)...

I also got a negative answer. It was a quite generic email with a "do not reply to this email" statement at the end. It would useful to understand if it was because of the online test results of because they didn't match the CV with any available profile. Does anyone has a clue?

Hi all,
I took the test this morning and it is made of logic questions (for example: finding a missing symbol in a sequence) and behavioral questions (do you like teamwork?). I do not think you can really prepare for such questions. As they say : "just be relaxed" !

I got an online assessment that should be finished before 29 feb, according to my search I had read a blog saying there are numerical, verbal, logical reasoning test each section have different scoring marks in percentage. I think online assessment consists of SHL test. If any body had faced the exam before, their advice will be very much appreciated, I means a lot to we guys who are going to take test in future.

just took the test.. its pretty much standard. if you have taken online assessment tests before, then you know the drill.
the only difference to the previous online tests i've taken is that you will have to read and interpret statistics and graphs.
other than that you will find the usual 'complete the sequence', a math test where the numbers are substituted for geometrical shapes and the obligatory 'character test' that seems to be never-ending. all of the tests are timed but the character test.
each section of the test starts with an example you do to familiarize yourself with the structure. the language of the test (at least for me) was set to english.
overall the test is very much doable. basically you cant prepare much, unless you do want to do practice tests that are structures similar to the one you will encounter for eads.
in the invitation to the online test it said that results will be made available after the online assessment test period is over. since most of us have gotten the deadline of feb 29th, i would think we will get the results after that.
reading and thinking about what you've read helps to answer these kind of questions. all information necessary was provided in the email. ;-)
with regards to travel expenses: i would assume they will not reimburse you for any travel expenses. however, if you must know or if your participation in any assessment center depends on the reimbursement of your travel costs, it might be wise to ask them once you've reached this stage (e.g. have received an invitation to an assessment center). until then i wouldn't bother thinking about it, if i were you.
good luck to everyone who still has/ wants to take the test. there's no need to get nervous or freak out. as some have already mentioned, the most important thing you have to do is to stay RELAXED.
