I had my phone interview and it went well. The only thing I would be curious to hear is when exactly the feedback will be? If anyone asks during their interview and gets feedback it would be helpful to share. I am in the S & M stream for reference and I may have been one of the first to interview back on the 7th of March.

@people who are upset about the online tests.
Though the personality related fields (ie. not the first 3 fields) may have some impact on your selection, I highly doubt that this is significant. I think it is likely that the first 3 areas receive the majority of the scrutiny and that there is probably an automatic cut-off point (ie. average less than 50 or 60 or 70) where you'll get rejected automatically - this despite a perfectly matching personality. The idea here is that regardless of how much you personally fit the firm there is a certain expectation of analytic capacity needed for the job.
That said, I completely sympathize with those who felt they under performed or simply do not respond well to such tests. I have crashed and burned a few times in past recruitment processes on a given day only to do great a another day. Its unfortunate that the scale of such recruiting initiatives necessitates the use of such methods!

Hi,
just got the phone interview for the strategy stream. 2 sections. A first involving questions around motivation to join EADS, competency and miscellaneous about the company. Followed 3 short case studies where you must explain how you would react to specific situations as a manager/project leader. Would recommend to work on the first part with usual tools as the second is only an application.
Also, questions you are asked should, to some extend, will be linked to how you answered competency questions during the online assessment. Probably to make a more precise profile. But don't fear on that as apart from 1st 3 results (analysis), others can be pretty extreme and could still pass (see below).
I was told answer will come around beginning/mid April as interviews go on until end of month.
1st 3 sections (95+)
Leadership motivation (reserved vs. dominant)

H Active pursuit of innovation (17)
H Outgoing nature (27)
H Team orientation (11)
H Customer service mentality (48)
H Propensity for conflict (37)
H Willingness to learn (15)

Are the 3 case studies about how you would react (personality) or more like business case study with calculations, pricing, etc.?
Can someone who has the interview in the next days ask which days are the selection days exactly?

Hi! I had the phone interview today. As previously mentioned by others, it comprises three parts. First they asked about motivation to join EADS. Second part, the ask about EADS and future strategies you think the company should pursuit. I strongly recommend to read about the company, and this link might be useful: http://www.eads.com/eads/int/en/our-c... I think those were the two more difficult questions. The rest of the second part was about specific situations that I have experienced before and how I reacted to them. Third part was the online management assessment. They will present you three management scenarios (three short paragraphs) and you'll have to answer what would you do if you were in a team leader role.

open answer, but they are really really simple and they give you more than enough time to prepare. Basically you have some lady reading you the questions and typing in the answers you say. A lot of Q's where you have to give examples from you past. They actually hardly even asked me why I want to do progress, only 1 Q about why I would like to work at EADS. The interview took an hour and the lady was very nice, no stress test or anything.

I had my interview early March, but they told me I would have to wait till a minimum of April as they had to assess all the other candidates first. E.g. it's not a rolling process.

My interview has finished. I honestly don't know hot to feel. I think I did not do very well in some of the question, specially those oriented to customer evaluation and that (I am more technically oriented).

I made the phone interview one month ago or so and I still did not get any answer. I think we all are in the same situation...The woman that called me for the phone interview said that they would answer by the beggining of april.

I just got an e-mail, they proposed 3 positions for which I have been shortlisted and now it's up to the manager to select the people they want to invite to the selection days, so more waiting! But i have done the process last year and it's all about waiting! Good luck

i received feedback today. they send an email that I passed the phone interview & that my profile is now under review by the managers of the potential progress position
too bad they didn't mention a time frame by when they would give feedback about the possible selection day invitation.

The process last year was slightly different but, i was not called by a manager at all and had to wait til june to get a final answer saying I was eventually not selected! Last year I was worried and stressed during the wait, now I know what to expect and hopefully the outcome will be better!

Hey guys,
Still have not received any feedback after the phone interview (I had mine on the 22nd of March)! I was hoping to receive something this week. I have applied as an engineer in the design & development functional area. From the forum, I guess none of the engineers have received any feedback?
Judging by what has been said on the forum, looks like this is going to be a tedious process! I have sent out an email to EADS HR asking for more information. So, if I do hear anything back from them, I will let you guys know.

I applied as an engineer in design, development and verification.
I just got the mail saying that I passed the phone interview and
they figured out three possible positions. They pass my personal
information to the managers who will decide if I can go to the
selection days.
The mails are personal so they don't send them all at the same
time, so you should all get an answer soon!

I unfortunately did not pass the phone interview for engineering design and development. =(
I will surely re-apply next year.
Just out of curiosity, what is everybody's age and education level?
I am 20 and am finishing up my Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, have no full time work experience but 7 months of internship experience in aerospace.
Would be interested in finding out how this compares to other candidates.

To answer one of the questions posted, I'm 24, electrical engineer with a master's degree in computer science. Just 1 year of experience in an IT field. Cheer up dude! you are VERY young! surely you'll find something according to your expectations... You're just starting your career =).

I have just received a confirmation email saying I successfully passed the phone interviews. I have been offered two positions, I like both as they match with my expectations.
Does anybody know how long does it take until I receive a final YES by any of the posts I have been offered??
I will have to start thinking about asking a few days off in my work.

I received two job positions matches. I applied for the ICT track. One position is in Toulouse and the other in Leicester. But it doesn't mean that I'm invited for the Selection Days yet... The managers have to approve my profile and then they'll invite me if they want. Does anybody know how long does it take for managers to decide that??

1) as far as I understand there are no rotation within Progress. you keep your position for two years - so during the whole Progress duration... you
2) they pay for the hotel and will arrange your transportation for you too

I am in the support stream and I was already told to go to Munich. I am also an Engineer. The email was personalised and in my case I was told to go for just one post, they chose for you. Well I am pretty nervous about it, I hope everything goes OK in Munich.

I totally agree with you, too. Sophie ignored my e-mails lots of times and other applicants felt like me, too. It does not take more than 1 minute to reply to those mails OR to update the applicant's status on the e-recruiting web. I will try to find an official way to make a strong complaint against her attitude to the HQ of EADS. I feel very much indignant about all those days she has made us to wait for without ANY NOTICE.

Congratulations! The initial position was for employee marketing with Astrium Satellites. The new position is for competence management with Eurocopter at Marignane. And yours?

I'm assuming that all of the design engineers have been notified of an AC? I was notified in April that I passed the phone interview, but was never informed if I was matched with any job. I'm currently located in Japan and was thinking that I would get the AC in Singapore. I'm assuming that this has already passed? In the end, how many design/manufacturing/system engineers have been invited to the AC? Reading through the comments here, it looks like 90% of the people invited come from the HR or Management track.
It would be nice to know if the deadline has been postponed after June, of if people have to give up right now...

I am bitterly disappointed in (1) the way the AC was conducted, and in (2) the fact that I was not offered the position.
(1) The fact that several (possibly all) PROGRESS streams were given the same 3 unimaginative and boring exercises does not make sense to me at this stage of the recruitment process. I applied for a very technical job, and I expected the AC to assess something other than my acting skills.
(2) Out of all the people competing for the position, my academic achievements were by far the most impressive. Furthermore, I was the only candidate to have significant and relevant work experience. (Yes, I did check the competition!)
However, it is merely the most friendly/outgoing of us who ended up receiving the offer.

Does anybody have any concrete figures for salary (especially in the engineering tracks)?
I only made it to the phone interview stage; however, the figure mentioned by the recruiter was up to 50'000 Euros depending on location, which doesn't seem like an awful lot for people with a Masters degree and a year of work experience.
Does anybody know more?

Apparently they don't really watch the grades. I know a guy who got to the final 360 this year (phone interview) with a high 60's average. I got just as far as him with mid 80s (both mechanical engineers).
Are you doing your bachelors or masters? And I assume you mean 45-50k salary after completing a masters?

Salary means nothing alone. You live way better in Toulouse with 35k? than with 50k? in London. But yes, it is true that the figure can go up to 50k for EADS HQ in Munich for a support stream for example. For an engineer in Toulouse you can expect 35k.
As for the grades, you don't need specific grades to participate to the scheme.

Hii Dude, I applied EADS (Cassidian) munich..first call hr told me about interview date and mailed me information.
I had done with my interview last monday (10 days ago), I mailed hr and asked her about decision and she told me, that is waiting for ans from recruiter and in the account my application shows in process .....how long they take to make decision and ya one more thing interviewer asked me salary and joining time also ..but still waiting for final ans as she told me i have to come down to munich ...

After what I've heard, it is kind of an aptitude test, were they will ask you questions regardign different situations and you will have several options in between you should choose one. This way they can get an idea of your psycological profile

During the application-progress, there are 2 options to commit a cover/motivation letter - once as a short text, an online formular and secondly as an attachment.
Waht did you insert where? Im not sure in what content this texts should differ....

I have a question about this program. I have been selected for the OA and I was wondering where this programm would take me at the end.
My wish is to work in Asia, is it possible to be based there after the selection process? Or is it only for Europe countries?

It takes like one hour and a half, and in my case - applied for Engineering position - the questions were mainly like an IQ test

I mean i completed it; sorry.
The test is divided between personality test (PT), logical test (LT) and numerical test (NT), like that : PT - LT - PT - NT - PS - LT - PT
Logical and numerical test are quite hard because you don't have a lot of time...

Hi all,
I can see that this homepage is pretty popular and I guess far more people visit this site than would actually leave a comment or two. The test was online test was pretty interesting and not too hard. The problem and limiting factor was the time, which is probably intended. Do some free online IQ tests as preparation and watch the time.
Please do share your opinions and experiences here, as everyone can learn from them.

Hello All,
I just finished the test and I had 3 parts. Does anyone have an idea of how these are graded? Does 70% ean that you were better than 70% of test takers, or would this be your actual score. Going further, is anyone sure about the average score one needs to obtain fro the first ain parts in orer to pass? Scrolling back into last years comments, soeone speaks of an 50-60-70 average. Any insights? Good luck for the rest of you

The numbers are given in percentage. If you have e.g. 70 in one categorie it means you were better than 70% of the other participants.

It seems the test differ for the various streams. I had more than 3 parts but cancelled it while doing the 4th part. For me it was very tough and kind of ridiculous tests...

no one has passed the test so far. Results will be out, starting from tomorrow. the discussion on the 70% average, is based on previouse discussions (see discussions of 2012)
are you sure that 70% means that you are better than 70% of all test takers? where can i get that information from?

I got a 91, 88, 57 score within the first 3 sections. I have to admit the test shows quite well my personality (specially after reading the explanations carefully). I only was a bit surprise of getting only a 35% in costumer orientation.Overall, I don't know if it will be enough to reach the next phase. Good luck to everyone!

I applied for Manufacturing and got a 91,89,57 score within the technical related sections. I was a bit surprised of getting a 35% in customer mentality, but after reading carefully the explanations I have to admit that the test in general shows quite what I think about myself.
I wonder if it will be enough to reach to the next phase...

My feeling is it fits not too badly, except for the innovation which I definitely pursue actively :)
In addition there is comments for each score, giving some explanation for the behaviour (like can work within team but still comfortable to handle job on its own, etc.).

How did you prepare? I've never done such a test before and especially the math/logic bit and the diagrams were totally unknown to me and thus I ran out of time in both sections.
So maybe you were told WHAT to prepare for, then HOW did you manage to prepare for this?

In my case I'm surprised I got a percentile of 12 in Team Orientation, while I've always been pro team-working.
I think this results - the ones regarding the social/personal skills - may be lower than expected to some of us because instead of giving extreme answers we tried to keep it real, by answering using maybe 25-40% / 60-80% instead of 0-20% or 80-100%

There are tons of books about these kind of tests out there with which you can prepare for. Its not a big secret.
