Prospect Goethe M&F/ MA VWL/ LMU VWL?
Dear all,
I am a current Master student outside EU. Though I just started the Master I kind of regret doing it back in my hometown already. Therefore, I am thinking about doing a Master abroad again. I have turned down offers from the US/UK (NYU/UCL) last year due to the tuition fee, so this year I would like to focus on schools in DE. My past interest lies more in empirical microeconomics, so I am looking at MA VWL/LMU VWL. However, this year I was exposed to some corporate finance case interviews and macroeconomic theories (master core course) and kind of liked it. Hence, I would also like to try some finance programs.
For Mannheim MMM, I don't have enough "BWL" credits, so I don't think I would have a big chance. I'm not sure if FSFM with its tuition fee is worth it, and I don't think non-German student would gain huge benefit from WHU's network. So my questions are:
- How do you see my chance of getting admission from Goethe M&F without finance background?
- How does the financial industry in FFM see the graduates from Goethe M&F/ MA VWL/ LMU VWL? Any huge difference?
- How about consulting industry? Any differecne?
- Is Goethe M&F a good choice here?
- (Irrelevant) Also, is it common to graduate from a Master at the age of 27+- in Germany? Is age gonna be a huge barrier in the job market?
