Anyway, hope to get some info as well, but I guess the test will be about some basic maths and interpretation of graphs. Something like that, but I would greatly appreciate if someone would give some intel on the online test.

habe jetzt den online test für das Trading Qualification Program gemacht. Das ist ein so gennanter PERLS test und setzt sich aus vielen verschiedenen aufgaben zusammen. Im ersten Teil muss man 10 Fragen aus dem Bereich VWL und BWL beantworten, dabei handelt es sich um Graphen, Tabellen und zwei Aussagenin jeder Frage die man als wahr oder falsch identifizieren sollte. Im zweiten Teil wird aud Logik geprüft, da soll man logische Zusammenhänge in Abbildungen finden. Im dritten Teil wird auf Textverständnis geprüft. Mehrere Texte aus den Bereichen VWL und BWL, auch hier muss man zwei aussagen als rightig oder falsch identifizieren muss. Im vierten Teil wird wieder auf Logik geprüft, dabei muss man Gleichungen lösen in den anstatt der Zahlen verschiedene Objekte wie Dreicke und Kreise benutzt werden. Danach folgt eine Aufgabe die nur schwer zu beschreiben ist, auf jeden Fall muss man da ein bestimmten Prozess in so wenigen wie möglich Schritten absolvieren. Danach muss man mehrere Aufgaben lösen wo einem eine Auswahl von verschiedenen Verhältnisen gegeben wird und man muss eine Kombination finden die dem vorgegebenem Verhältnis entspricht. In der letzten Aufgabe wird einem ein Ablaufsprozess/Produktionsprozess (z.B. Call Center, Post) eines Unternehmens gezeigt wo man bestimmte Aufgaben des Prozesses definieren muss, so dass der einwandfrei funktioniert.

Manche Aufgaben sind schwer zu beschreiben, die muss man gemacht oder gesehen haben. Ich denke der Test ist machbar, etwas Vorbereitung kann nicht schaden, speziell für die Logik tests, die kann man leicht im Netz finden.

I also did the online tests for the E.ON energy trading program. Shortly after, I received an email that I passed and to wait for 2 weeks for the next round. Do you have any idea what the next round is? Telephone interview?

Since the job starts in November, i am guessing that the assessment centres will be hold in september then? Do you think there are organized on different days spread over september?

I have not received any feedback about the scores as well, i doubt they provide you with such information. They just told in the e-mail that I passed the test and that the application process is still ongoing. They said they will contact me within the next two weeks (1 week left) for further information.

I have an economics and financial background, so kinda relevant to the position :)

Regarding the salary, I read at some other forum that generally the trainees at E.ON get about 40k-47k EUR, but don't know for sure.

It seems that the candidates for this program are coming from all around the globe. How many of you speak german?

i am pretty sure the interview is going to be in english, i think german language skills was not a requirement for this position, since english is the company language.

there are several examples of the questions for the telefon interview in this thread, they might give you an idea how to prepare.

Bin vor einer Zeit bei E.On Ruhrgas zum VG gewesen. Eine nette Atmosphäre, es werden viele typischen Fragen aus den Bewerbungsbüchern gestellt, z.B. wo sehen Sie sich in x Jahren? usw. Es wird gerne versucht, herauszufinden, ob man teamfähig ist. Fast keine fachlichen Fragen, es wird viel mehr der Lebenslauf diskutiert. Etwas zu langweilig.

Does anyone know what kind of technical questions they might probably be asking for the Trading Qualification Program during an interview? I'm a recent graduate from the University of Singapore majoring in Industrial and Systems Engineering, and we don't really have a course here that teaches energy trading, and I really have'nt got much of a clue of what to expect in the event that technical questions were to be asked. Can anybody help?

There are some examples for a technical question in this thread. I think the qustion they have asked for a different Trainne program last year was: How many terrwatt hours of electricity are expected to be consumed in the European Union in 2008? (see post from 08.03.08)

I think this type of question is asked to see your analytical skills. There cant be a right answer, since its impossible to know. But there is no garantuee that they would ask similar questions for our program.

Can anybody give some more recent examples of questions from the telefon interview?

I've been giving some thought about it. Since this is an Energy Trading Program, I was thinking that they might probably ask questions related to energy trading in specific, rather than the questions that we've been seeing in the past.

Example:
What is your take on brent crude price flucuations in the 1st quarter this year? How do you think we should hedge our position in current gas markets to optimize our asset value?

I'd just like to confirm if that is the case, if these questions are the types that we will be facing on telephone interviews. Is there anyone who has experiences with a telephone interview for the E.ON Trading Qualification Program.

wanted to share my experience about the phone interview. It might help somebody who is still going to have the interview.

My interview did not have any technical questions as in other trainee programs, as described in posts above. The interview is very much focused on the candidates CV and his key qualifications. There will be some questions regarding the company and its business, but those questions are asked based on the candidates experience, interests and key qualifications. Dont know if this is going to help anybody :) There is no need to panic about the interview, there are no questions, which can not be answered. The interviewer are trying to keep a calm environment, so no need to be nervous.

I wish everybody good luck with the interview and hope to see some of you in the AC.

All in all I had three rather technical questions. The rest was more HR related. Comment on:

1.) Hedging outritght Dated Brent exposure via ICE swaps and the DFL.
2.) Liquidity constraints in prompt and forward timeframe comparing NBP/Zee/TTF with developing EGT/PEG/CEGH.
3.) A question on embedded time spread optionality in physical coal contracts.

Sogar die Ansprache von unserem CEO auf dem CC Sommerfest war in Englisch.

Dude they are difficult questions. What desk were you interviewing for? When is everyones Assessment centres?

I did the test, it was like last year as described above. Has any of you, who took part at the test, got an answer if he/she passed or not yet?

You surely won't get an answer whether you passed or not until Sunday night when everybody should have taken the test. Afterwards they will compare the results and invite the top 15% quantile of all participants to a telephone interview. Finally, after having passed the thelephone interview successfully as well, you will get an invitation to the AsCent. It's like a pyramid... maybe you'll be one out of 6 pharaos then.

I think there is one more week of tests. Once if finishs we may know the results.

Can we give apply again for the next intake if we have already given the test?

ich habe gerade am 23.02.10 das Online-AC gemacht. Es war wirklich fair von den Aufgaben. Nichts, was man nicht in der einschlägigen Literatur finden und dementsprechend üben kann. Allerdings habe ich dafür fast 2 Stunden gebraucht. Das war dann doch sehr anstrengend.

Weiß jemand wie lange man ungefähr auf die Ergebnisse warten muss?

also ich war da drin und hab denn job bekommen.

1. begrüssung
2. Case + presentation (individuell) viel und schnell lesen die stehen auf ein bisschen mathe anwendung
3. selbst presentation plus fragen wie im telefoninterview
   4 rollenspiel (thema: schwierige zusammenarbeit und du sollst die situation klären/bewerten)
4. Kaffee und kuchen mit ältere trainees
5. Feedback (so um 18 bis 19 uhr)

Die reihenfolge kann anders sein, du hast sehr viel pause also 50% der zeit und nur dann hast du kontakt mit andere bewerber. was die machen hat keinen einfluss auf deine bewerbung

habe den test vor 2 Wochen gemacht und seitdem nichts mehr gehört. nachdem was ich hier gelesen habe, sollte ich also davon ausgehen das ich wohl nicht genommen werde. Eine Absage wäre zwar schön aber naja. alle die in die nächste runde kommen viel glück

Das würde ich so noch nicht sehen. Habe gerade die Woche von jemandem gehört, dass die Absage innerhalb von 2 Tagen nach dem Test kam. Von daher würde ich die Hoffnung noch nicht aufgeben.

Seit dieser Mail hab ich gar nichts mehr gehört. Hat jemand ähnliche Erfahrungen gemacht?

I 'd love to share my experience with you guys if you are interested, i have two days assessment days and each day you will get different tasks to do, personally i think these tasks will test your time arrangement, analytical, negotiation, discussion, presentational skills. Not difficult, i believe all of you could make it if you always be confident. Regarding The content of the tests, as i have signed the paper i could not tell you guys the details.

But what i want to suggest you is to be yourself and sometimes the company not always choose the best but the most suitable people. Wish you all can enjoy it and share your experience with othes when you back......

ich habe am 7.06. mein AC für das E.ON Graduate Programme, Bereich Business Development. Dieses findet in der E.ON Trading in Düsseldorf statt, weshalb ich annehme, dass es sich mit dem AC für die Trading überschneidet.

Mich würde interessieren, wie der Case genau abläuft, v.a. was den bereits erwähnten Matheteil betrifft. Braucht man da spezielles Wissen in der Umrechnung/Abschätzung von Energieverbrauch von Ländern/Ampeln/Lampen etc? Oder ist das eher ein "normaler" strategischer business case, wo es eher um das konzeptionelle geht?

Wäre wirklich dankbar, falls jemand dazu eine Antwort hätte.
