	i received a rejection today as well. honestly tho, im not surprised i have. as mentioned earlier, my report was totally contradictory. i, for one, wont apply to the program again. i dont fear competition nor the OA, but i dont see the value to these tests other than for EADS to be able to narrow down the choice. i do understand that they receive a huge amount of applications. but these standardized tests are nothing but standardized. and thats just not the way i work hehehe. i agree with others who said this test wasnt clear at times. however, that was not so much a problem. there is always room for interpretation. to me it was more problematic that they wanted me to enter percentages to values and characteristics to determine 'my fit'. i dont think this kind of test is applicable at all. obviously, one could think in one preferable direction and answer the questions accordingly although its not true (e.g. teamwork vs. individual work). my results in the first three categories were: 49, 14, 89 overall, my lowest result was in team orientation with 11. my highest was in customer service mentality with 92. i dont think i did particularly bad in the test. but obviously there were others who read the diagrams better and have a higher team & leadership aspiration ;-). again. congrats to those who passed the OA. hope youll make it through and get the traineeship!

	Hi all, I received a rejection email today morning and I want to ask your feedbacks about my results. If you guys who have already passed can tell your results or comment about my results I appreciate. 	I, too, received the rejection email today. My test scores were: -Problem solving capacity: 80 -Diagram analysis: 65 -Reasoning: 35 -Leadership motivation: 77 -Active pursuit of innovation: 90 -Outgoing nature: 94 -Team orientation: 89 -Costumer service mentality: 88 -Propensity for conflict: 25 -Willingness to learn: 68 I think that the online test instructions for part #3 (reasoning) were not very concise and gave way to interpretation too. I totally messed it up in that part..... I applied for Costumer Services and Support Engineering. I had also a strong application, but guess that in order to pass to the interview phase they only take into account the OA results (apparently the first three ones). A strong application only gets you in the first phase (OA). At least, thats what I think. Congratulations to all of you who have made it to next phase!!! All my best wishes!!!!!!!

	Got an email with an invite for a phone interview on the 29th of march... there's a link, which i'm supposed to access on the day of the interview... do you guys have any idea of what this will be? is anyone doing the phone interview before the 29th? I'm a little clueless about the process... :/ as far as i understood, if i pass the next phase (phone interview) then i'll be invited for a 1.5 days whatever selection. what is that? another round of 275029375 tests?? the whole process seems to take quite a long time!! when they'll finally talk about the job positions?? cheers and good luck to all of you! =)

	Hello everyone! I have applied for the ICT Programme. I have my phone interview at the end of march. I've got a 39, 80 and 98 in the three first parts of the online assessment. I dont remember the rest of the results (psychotechnical assessment). Does anybody know about this phone interview? what kind of questions do they ask? do they talk to you in several languages or only english? Good luck to everyone in your careers!

	Does anybody know if you can defer your acceptance by a year? I have a phone interview next week, but I just accepted a 1 year Masters program the other day. Since my Masters program is in Innovation Management, it should fit the bill quite well. I am still very interested in becoming a progress member, but I will not be able to do so this September.

	Are you allowed to defer your application by a year? I have an interview scheduled for next week, but need to decide within the next week whether or not I accept a prestigious offer for a Master in Management of Innovation. Since I have a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, I assume this would be a good combination. As this program goes Sep'12 - Aug'13, I would want to start PROGRESS in September 2013. Am I able to (if I pass the interview) delay the selection day by a year? What would you suggest I say during the interview?

	I don´t think that they´ll let you postpone it for a whole year. I would go for the Master without any doubts. I studied too Mechanical Engineering and then I completed a two year Master on Business Engineering and it gives you a much wider scope of an engineering company.

	35K?/Y in Toulouse is not so much regarding the average graduate entry program in the sector. However, you can expect this amount to grow at a stable, confortable rate! As per those who say you can't live in Toulouse with 35K?, this is bullsh**, I don't know where these guy come from, but you can live pretty well...

	Hi, I had my phone interview today. So it lasts approximately 40 minutes and it's divided in three parts. First I was asked why I applied to this program and what I was looking for. Then they asked me questions about EADS and their future strategy. The second part depends on the online test, for me it was questions about passed management experiences and teams playing experiences. The last part is linked to the internet link: there is three managmenet situation and you have to tell what you would do. Good luck everybody

	had my interview today..it was 1.5 hours. why so long? because i obviously sucked...questions were mostly about confirmation of psychological portrait you have drawn during answering online test. neither difficult nor something you must prepare for. plus - the interviewer was very nice and kind. my preference was Quality engineer. best of luck to everyone! 	I had my phone interview and it went well. The only thing I would be curious to hear is when exactly the feedback will be? If anyone asks during their interview and gets feedback it would be helpful to share. I am in the S & M stream for reference and I may have been one of the first to interview back on the 7th of March.

	@people who are upset about the online tests. Though the personality related fields (ie. not the first 3 fields) may have some impact on your selection, I highly doubt that this is significant. I think it is likely that the first 3 areas receive the majority of the scrutiny and that there is probably an automatic cut-off point (ie. average less than 50 or 60 or 70) where you'll get rejected automatically - this despite a perfectly matching personality. The idea here is that regardless of how much you personally fit the firm there is a certain expectation of analytic capacity needed for the job. That said, I completely sympathize with those who felt they under performed or simply do not respond well to such tests. I have crashed and burned a few times in past recruitment processes on a given day only to do great a another day. Its unfortunate that the scale of such recruiting initiatives necessitates the use of such methods!

	Hi, just got the phone interview for the strategy stream. 2 sections. A first involving questions around motivation to join EADS, competency and miscellaneous about the company. Followed 3 short case studies where you must explain how you would react to specific situations as a manager/project leader. Would recommend to work on the first part with usual tools as the second is only an application. Also, questions you are asked should, to some extend, will be linked to how you answered competency questions during the online assessment. Probably to make a more precise profile. But don't fear on that as apart from 1st 3 results (analysis), others can be pretty extreme and could still pass (see below). I was told answer will come around beginning/mid April as interviews go on until end of month. 1st 3 sections (95+) Leadership motivation (reserved vs. dominant) (8) H Active pursuit of innovation (17) H Outgoing nature (27) H Team orientation (11) H Customer service mentality (48) H Propensity for conflict (37) H Willingness to learn (15) I think the first ones saved me vs the rest.. 	Hi! I had the phone interview today. As previously mentioned by others, it comprises three parts. First they asked about motivation to join EADS. Second part, the ask about EADS and future strategies you think the company should pursuit. I strongly recommend to read about the company, and this link might be useful: http://www.eads.com/eads/int/en/our-c... I think those were the two more difficult questions. The rest of the second part was about specific situations that I have experienced before and how I reacted to them. Third part was the online management assessment. They will present you three management scenarios (three short paragraphs) and you'll have to answer what would you do if you were in a team leader role.

	open answer, but they are really really simple and they give you more than enough time to prepare. Basically you have some lady reading you the questions and typing in the answers you say. A lot of Q's where you have to give examples from you past. They actually hardly even asked me why I want to do progress, only 1 Q about why I would like to work at EADS. The interview took an hour and the lady was very nice, no stress test or anything.

	I have yet to hear back as well. I imagine that each stream will hear back (yes or no) at the same time but that some of us in different streams may find out days if not weeks apart.

	I made the phone interview one month ago or so and I still did not get any answer. I think we all are in the same situation...The woman that called me for the phone interview said that they would answer by the beggining of april. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

	I just got an e-mail, they proposed 3 positions for which I have been shortlisted and now it's up to the manager to select the people they want to invite to the selection days, so more waiting! 	i received feedback today. they send an email that I passed the phone interview & that my profile is now under review by the managers of the potential progress position too bad they didn't mention a time frame by when they would give feedback about the possible selection day invitation.

	The process last year was slightly different but, i was not called by a manager at all and had to wait til june to get a final answer saying I was eventually not selected! Last year I was worried and stressed during the wait, now I know what to expect and hopefully the outcome will be better!

	Hey guys, Still have not received any feedback after the phone interview (I had mine on the 22nd of March)! I was hoping to receive something this week. I have applied as an engineer in the design & development functional area. From the forum, I guess none of the engineers have received any feedback? Judging by what has been said on the forum, looks like this is going to be a tedious process! I have sent out an email to EADS HR asking for more information. 	Hi guys! I applied as an engineer in design, development and verification. I just got the mail saying that I passed the phone interview and they figured out three possible positions. They pass my personal information to the managers who will decide if I can go to the selection days. The mails are personal so they don't send them all at the same time, so you should all get an answer soon! Good luck!!

	I unfortunately did not pass the phone interview for engineering design and development. =( I will surely re-apply next year. Just out of curiosity, what is everybody's age and education level? I am 20 and am finishing up my Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, have no full time work experience but 7 months of internship experience in aerospace. Would be interested in finding out how this compares to other candidates.

To answer one of the questions posted, I'm 24, electrical engineer with a master's degree in computer science. Just 1 year of experience in an IT field. 	I have just received a confirmation email saying I successfully passed the phone interviews. I have been offered two positions, I like both as they match with my expectations. Does anybody know how long does it take until I receive a final YES by any of the posts I have been offered?? I will have to start thinking about asking a few days off in my work. 	I received two job positions matches. I applied for the ICT track. One position is in Toulouse and the other in Leicester. But it doesn't mean that I'm invited for the Selection Days yet... 	I totally agree with you, too. Sophie ignored my e-mails lots of times and other applicants felt like me, too. It does not take more than 1 minute to reply to those mails OR to update the applicant's status on the e-recruiting web. I will try to find an official way to make a strong complaint against her attitude to the HQ of EADS. I feel very much indignant about all those days she has made us to wait for without ANY NOTICE.

	I am bitterly disappointed in (1) the way the AC was conducted, and in (2) the fact that I was not offered the position. (1) The fact that several (possibly all) PROGRESS streams were given the same 3 unimaginative and boring exercises does not make sense to me at this stage of the recruitment process. I applied for a very technical job, and I expected the AC to assess something other than my acting skills. (2) Out of all the people competing for the position, my academic achievements were by far the most impressive. Furthermore, I was the only candidate to have significant and relevant work experience. (Yes, I did check the competition!) However, it is merely the most friendly/outgoing of us who ended up receiving the offer.

	Does anybody have any concrete figures for salary (especially in the engineering tracks)? I only made it to the phone interview stage; however, the figure mentioned by the recruiter was up to 50'000 Euros depending on location, which doesn't seem like an awful lot for people with a Masters degree and a year of work experience. Does anybody know more?

	Apparently they don't really watch the grades. I know a guy who got to the final 360 this year (phone interview) with a high 60's average. I got just as far as him with mid 80s (both mechanical engineers). Are you doing your bachelors or masters? And I assume you mean 45-50k salary after completing a masters?

	Salary means nothing alone. You live way better in Toulouse with 35k? than with 50k? in London. But yes, it is true that the figure can go up to 50k for EADS HQ in Munich for a support stream for example. For an engineer in Toulouse you can expect 35k. As for the grades, you don't need specific grades to participate to the scheme.

	Hii Dude, I applied EADS (Cassidian) munich..first call hr told me about interview date and mailed me information. I had done with my interview last monday (10 days ago), I mailed hr and asked her about decision and she told me, that is waiting for ans from recruiter and in the account my application shows in process .....how long they take to make decision and ya one more thing interviewer asked me salary and joining time also ..but still waiting for final ans as she told me i have to come down to munich ...

	After what I've heard, it is kind of an aptitude test, were they will ask you questions regardign different situations and you will have several options in between you should choose one. This way they can get an idea of your psycological profile

	During the application-progress, there are 2 options to commit a cover/motivation letter - once as a short text, an online formular and secondly as an attachment. Waht did you insert where? Im not sure in what content this texts should differ....

	I mean i completed it; sorry. The test is divided between personality test (PT), logical test (LT) and numerical test (NT), like that : PT - LT - PT - NT - PS - LT - PT Logical and numerical test are quite hard because you don't have a lot of time... good luck

The test was online test was pretty interesting and not too hard. The problem and limiting factor was the time, which is probably intended. Do some free online IQ tests as preparation and watch the time. Please do share your opinions and experiences here, as everyone can learn from them. Cheers

Does 70% ean that you were better than 70% of test takers, or would this be your actual score. Going further, is anyone sure about the average score one needs to obtain fro the first ain parts in orer to pass? Scrolling back into last years comments, soeone speaks of an 50-60-70 average. 	The numbers are given in percentage. If you have e.g. 70 in one categorie it means you were better than 70% of the other participants.

	I got a 91, 88, 57 score within the first 3 sections. I have to admit the test shows quite well my personality (specially after reading the explanations carefully). I only was a bit surprise of getting only a 35% in costumer orientation.Overall, I don't know if it will be enough to reach the next phase. Good luck to everyone!

I was a bit surprised of getting a 35% in customer mentality, but after reading carefully the explanations I have to admit that the test in general shows quite what I think about myself. 	In my case I'm surprised I got a percentile of 12 in Team Orientation, while I've always been pro team-working. I think this results - the ones regarding the social/personal skills - may be lower than expected to some of us because instead of giving extreme answers we tried to keep it real, by answering using maybe 25-40% / 60-80% instead of 0-20% or 80-100%

	When you do such tests more often, you will see you improve easily. I have done a few of this tests already for other companies, and they are somehow similare (and if Kienbaum is the provider, you even realise you know some of the graphs :D). Actually in my opinion the EADS test was one of the easier once - but maybe just because I do not like verbal tests. You can find some pages in the internet where you can prepare for such tests. A good one is for example SHL.

	The way I see it, Customer Service Mentality and Propensity for Conflict are the two items where a higher score isn't necessarily better. A high score in CSM would mean that you would bend over backwards to meet a customer's requirements at the expense of other duties and priorities. A higher score in PfC would mean that you would be willing to pick a fight with someone and cause problems within the team just to prove a point or to settle a personal conflict. Just my opinion though. Don't know what you guys think.

The description says: Customer service mentality describes the importance accorded to the needs of customers and partners, and to solving their individual problems. If you have 75 or high it says that: Based on your responses on the test, you have an above-average inclination to respond to the needs of others and to commit yourself to solving their problems. You feel especially gratified if you can provide the best possible solution to others? requests.

	Hey everyone, I got my rejection letter yesterday. My scores were (49) (61) and (69) for the first three. I'm pretty sure my scores were not good enough, however this was the first time I have taken such a test and found it to be very difficult, not to mention strange. I'll start practicing lot more aptitude tests now, and I'll definitely be re-applying for Progress next year! If anyone knows of some good sites to practice these sort of tests, or prepare for them in any way, please let us know! Good luck to those who made the cut! P.S. to the person who posted above me, I would assume the interview would be in the language in which you applied for the program.

	It will be in English, that's for sure. Or at least be prepared for it. Kienbaum is a german company so maybe you'll have the chance to have somebody speaking German, but I highly doubt that you'll be able to do the interview in French, Italian or Spanish (unfortunately :) ).

UK universities seem to prepare their students better for this procedure than universities from other countries. I hope this will help you for next year. Concerning your answer about the language of the interview: Did not everyone have to apply in English? I think questions in other languages are possible - but are they very likely?

	This goes to the guys from EADS/Kienbaum, who most certainly watch these dialogues as well... Having seen other assessment centers/methods meanwhile, that consist of an online part as well, I must say that the PROGRESS System is shallow. It seems that you guys willingly accept to be tricked upon by people knowing the right answers in advance etc. and making an application to the program a matter of sheer luck. In the end it is EADS that will suffer from candidates that ain't necessarily the best, but the best prepared. Good Luck

	I wondering - why you think so? With which method can you cheat at the online test of EADS which is not applicable for other online tests? I think already the psychological questions avoid that a friend is doing your test. So what else? I guess the people of EADS/Kienbaum are aware that this possibilties exist and therefore they also consider your CV,... Do you have practical improvement suggestions? Actually preparing well isn't a bad attitude. However you should always keep in mind that an application also needs luck. Otherwise you can continue to complain about the people who get the job with connections and so on - life is not fair.

	had phone interview today. they said it takes up to one month for the results. it's split into 3 parts, first general questions about eads - you should read about it, then about the aviation industry in general. then problem solving questions for you when you have to give a lot of examples - such as hard situations you dealt with and how, what is your biggest achievement, what is your biggest innovation, what do you think are the biggest challenges for the future of eads/aviation/you. the last part is the online assessment, when you have to give feedback and solution for three business cases, mostly team-management and project management oriented. i cannot say more, but i can say good luck to you guys! its not easy, i suggest you be rested and think about your goals beforehand!

The third was also the same, but the second part was different. i had rather the classical interview: "tell us something about you/your cv, why did you choose this university or that internship, what are your strengths, weaknesses, what would you like to achieve in 5/10 years... 	I guess it is different - as my interview was also different to your two descriptions. The focus was definitely on your described "second part". I just had the typical question about why I want to work for EADS and nothing from the aviation industry or the industry sectors itself. Would not really say that was are "part" - more an introduction part to the main interview. Therefore I had to answer to quite a lot of this question "Tell me a time..." - that is also why I hardly remember what it was, but nothing too tricky. I just was wondering that it was nothing direct about my weaknesses and challanges - guess that is what they asked between the lines and I did not got it ;-). This situation part was in my opinion a bit strange, as I did not got it why we had to read it online instead of the interviewer telling us the situation. Nothing difficult and I wonder how they evaluate it.

	Well, one can back up the comment earlier " guys willingly accept to be tricked upon by people knowing the right answers in advance" Just give it a second thought - after doing a couple of online assessments, I can now think of a way that people want me to be for a certain position and will answer accordingly. I made 100/100 here in leading skills on purpose, when applying for strategy, was no big deal although my guess might have been wrong and I could have answered just one of the questions "wrongly". Others might have done a better guess or pick at guessing their outcome or had a better book to prepare with. Now combine this with other people's comments from further up: "I knew half of the questions already" Although the need for a system to sort out applicants is valid, this system has some downsides and EADS will get a pretty high portion of cheaters among their staff. But then again, as one sugggested earlier, cheating needs some skill, preparation and brain as well. Right? It's either EADS wants this or to spend more money, e.g. in conducting more interviews.

	What you are writing is nonesense. The parts that really mattered were the problem-solving capacity, the diagram analysis and the reasoning. Nobody could have known these questions before. And if you are refering to the psychological questions: You could only have guessed what they might want to hear from you. So if you know customer service is really important for EADS (which is clearly stated on the webpage) you could have decided to answer accordingly. Anyway the psychological part was not really desicive for getting the phone interview as we have seen from all the different scores above. Which is not cheating by the way. I think you are just offended because you failed and now try to pinpoint your failure on somebody else, the system, the test... etc. Just except that you didn't do well enough and move on. Nobodys fault but yours.

	I passed too, but it doesn't mean that you are invited to the AC. They are going to try to see if your profil fits open positions and only then introduce your profil to the responsible manager. If the responsible manager thinks you are a good candidate you are invited to the AC. Usuall 3 people will be invited for 1 position.

	I can't speak for this year, as I did not apply, but I applied last year and made it to the phone interview stage. This is the information I can provide from this year's cohort: -over 9600 applicants -roughly 360 phone interviews -roughly 250 get to selection day -maximum 115 get a spot (it was about 98 in the end, based on a guy I know who got in) I decided not to apply this year, as it was the age that hurt my application last year (I was 20, finishing up my Mechanical Engineering Bachelors, applied for engineering development). As a result, I decided to tack on a Masters in Management and 2 more internships and will be reapplying next year for either the Strategy or Engineering Development stream, haven't decided yet. I'll be older then and had more internship experience, which will hopefully help my candidacy.
