Englisches Praktikumszeugnis
Praktikumszeugnisse in unserem Sinn gibt es im englischen Sprachraum nicht. Es ist jedoch üblich, sich nach Abschluss eines Praktikums ein Empfehlungsschreiben (letter of recommendation) ausstellen zu lassen. Man sollte dabei darauf achten, dass die Kontaktdaten des Ausstellenden auch vollständig sind, denn es ist durchaus üblich, weitere Einkünfte über einen Empfohlenen einzuholen - auch wenn das bei Praktika eher selten vorkommen wird.
Wir präsentieren ein Beispiel, das sowohl den Erfordernissen des angelsächsischen Sprachraums genügt als auch für Bewerbungszwecke in Deutschland geeignet ist. Zudem hat uns ein WiWi aus Frankfurt freundlicherweise ein Zeugnis zur Verfügung gestellt, das ihm für ein Praktikum in Hongkong ausgestellt wurde.

This letter serves to confirm that Mr xxxxxxxx was employed on vacation work experience in Hong Kong with our Group Trading operation. Mr. xxxxxx worked with us from August until October, 2003.
During his time with us Mr. xxxxx worked on preparing shipping and banking documents, contracts and shipping co-ordination. Mr. xxxxxxx carried out some very valuable survey and research work for us in respect to sourcing certain new products from China for sale in Germany and U.S.A.
Mr. xxxxxxx was also exposed to some negotiations with China suppliers, and also to breach of contract legal action that we are undertaking in Beijing. Mr. xxxxxxx travelled to Beijing to participate in discussions with our Chinese Lawyers.
During his time with us we found that Mr. xxxxxxx was very willing to carry out any duties assigned to him. He used initiative and worked well without supervision. Mr. xxxxxx worked very well with his colleagues and was a pleasure to have on our team.
